Blacksburg, SC - Louise Bishop Smith, 77, of Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late John Thomas Smith and daughter of the late Wylie Edgar Bishop and Laura Manuel Bishop. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, was the retired owner/operator of Smith's Janitorial and a member of Christ the King Church in Shelby, North Carolina. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved her Church and traveling on cruises with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Dwayne Smith (Beverly) of Gaffney and Brian Smith of Blacksburg; two daughters, Libby Hawkins (Billy) and Angie McDonald (Richie), both of Blacksburg; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Bishop of Gaffney; nine grandchildren; twelve greatgrandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar Bishop and Charles Bishop and two sisters, Eula Mae Bishop Peeler and Ovenia Bishop Poole.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday,
July 16, 2021 in the Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Vernon L. Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Christ the King Church, 1311 South Lafayette Street, Shelby, NC 28152.
The family will be at their respective homes.
