Gaffney, SC - Martha Bishop Wilkie, 76, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Eber and Ola Mae Bishop. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and retired from First Piedmont Federal. She was a long-time employee of Community Cash Grocery Store. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the pianist at Rose Hill Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She also was a Sunday School Teacher and held many other positions within the church. She was a Godly woman, loved the Lord and was loved by everyone that knew her. She loved her family, especially her four grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Donald Wilkie; a daughter, Robin Fowler (Tracy); a son, Donnie Wilkie; four grandchildren, Brandi Sharpe, Bryson and Bennett Wilkie, and Sarah Beth Childers (Landon), all of Gaffney; a brother, Larry Bishop (Margaret) and a sister, Carol Baca (Henry), all of Gaffney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Bishop.
Graveside services will be held at Frederick Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Joey Shetley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Social distancing and masks are requested.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Calvary Baptist Church, 2929 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340 or the Alzheimer's Association, 790 E. Main Street, Suite A, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
