Mr. Marvin Junior Guyton, age 52, of 1753 Parkdale Avenue, Gastonia, N.C., husband of Mrs. Willette Palmer Guyton of Columbia, S.C., answered the Master's call on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, N.C.
Son of Mr. Mack Knuckles (Nancy) and the late Flora Lee Guyton Johnson, he was born on October 6, 1964, in Gaffney. He was reared in the home by his grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. J. T. and Rosa Lee Guyton. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Pricilla Moore and Ms. Denea Jackson.
At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. Later, he joined Greater Buck Shoals. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, class of 1982. He was last employed at Red Valve Company in Gastonia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ms. Kea-Iyonna Simmons of Washington, D.C. and Ms. Crystal Guyton of Columbia, S.C.; his son, Mr. Quinton Palmer of Greer, S.C.; his father, Mr. Mack Knuckles (Nancy) of Gaffney, his sister, Ms. Denise Johnson Miller; two brothers, Mr. Billly Johnson (Atecha) of Gastonia, N.C., and Mr. Travis Tate of Charlotte, N.C.; two step-sisters, Ms. Nina Robinson of Gaffney and Master Chief Tuesday Jackson (Michael) of Honolulu, Hawaii; his granddaughter, Leah Simmons of Washington, D.C.; three uncles, Mr. Johnny Guyton and Mr. Cossie Knuckles, both of Gaffney, and Mr. Robert Guyton of Springfield, Fla.; three aunts, Ms. Dorothy Tate, Nellie Hardy and Ms. Dillia Ballard, all of Gaffney; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family can be contacted at the home of his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Mack and Nancy Knuckles at 611 Kendrick Street, Gaffney.
