The Reverend Dr. Michael Lee Hull, Sr., 54, of 105 Calton Drivc, Gaffney, passed away Saturday, October 19th, in his home.
Husband of the former Meriam Eaves, he was born in Gaffney, SC and was a son of Patricia Conner Hull and the late Reverend. Larry Davis.
Michael was a 1988 graduate of Blacksburg High School. He furthered his education and received an Associate Degree in Business from Spartanburg Community College, and a Doctor of Theology Degree from Heaven's Avenue Baptist Seminary in Shelby, NC.
Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and also served in the Navy Reserves. He was employed for 31 years by Newark Electronics/ Avnet.
Michael was an Associate Minister of Young's Grove Baptist Church. He served in several organizations in the church. He also served with the Prison Ministry, the United Brotherhood, and the missionary workers in St. Kitts. He was Chairman of the Hands Across Blacksburg Organization.
He was preceded in death by his biological dad, Rev. Larry Davis, and his adoptive dad, Jimmy Hull. He leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Meriam Hull, of the home; three children, Brittany Scruggs of Gaffney, Michael Jr., and Lena Hull, both of the home; a granddaughter, Ava Bell; his mother, Patricia Hull, of Blacksburg; a brother, Trevor Hull (Felicia), of Greenwood, SC; sisters, Clarissa Connor, of Spartanburg, SC, Tiffany Davis and Monica Davis, of Gaffney, Tara Gullatte (Anthony), of Shelby, NC, Chasity Gilliam (Kendrick) of Blacksburg, SC, and Reverend Shanna Woodruff (Gary), of Anderson, SC; an uncle; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service, with Military Rites, will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., in Young's Grove Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Larry Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. He may be viewed in the church Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
