Gaffney, SC - Miles Elijah "Bo" Gettys, III, of 356 College Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the Reverend Jenny Cooper Gettys and son of the late Miles Elijah Gettys, Jr. and Louise Salmon Gettys. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Spartanburg Technical College, and retired from Gaffney Lumber Company. He loved his family, served on the CHAPS Board of Directors, was a talented artist, and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation.
In addition to his wife, also surviving is a brother, Henry G. Gettys (Beth) of Gaffney; a brother-in-law, Steve E. Blanton of Gaffney; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Libbie" "Ms. E.B." Gettys Blanton.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation with Reverend Dave Roderick and Reverend Rob Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, "Bread from Heaven Food Pantry", 308 College Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340 or CHAPS, 301 College Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340. Inurnment will be private for the family.
