Nancy Marie Smith Knuckles, age 73, of 611 Kendrick St., Gaffney, passed away Saturday, February 18, in Spartanburg Medical Center.
Wife of Mack Knuckles, she was born in Gaffney, SC and was a daughter of the late Nobie and Rosa Lee Wood Smith.
She was a graduate of Granard High School in Gaffney. Nancy received an Associate Degree in Cosmetology from Wilfred Academy of Cosmetology in Philadelphia, PA., where she later became an instructor.
After moving back to Gaffney, she was employed by the Cherokee County School District as a School Bus Monitor.
Nancy was a member and deaconess of Suck Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by: brothers, James Wood, Lindsay Smith, and Samuel Smith; step-daughters, Denay Jackson and Priscilla Moore; step-son, Marvin Guyton; and a sister-in-law, Daisy Helen Smith.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Mack Knuckles, of the home; two daughters, Tuesday Jackson and Nina Robinson, both of Gaffney; a brother, Fredrick "Bear" Smith, of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Ruth Rodgers (Blakely), of Gaffney and Rose Mary Evans (Gary), of Sacramento, CA; sisters-in-law, Jackie Smith Bebee, of Utah, Delia Ballard, Juanita Watkins, Dorothy Tate, Neller Hardy, Johnnie Mae Knuckles; brother-in-law, Cossie B. Knuckles, all of Gaffney; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 23, 1:00 p.m., in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with The Rev. Tony Makupson and The Rev. Horace Jefferies.
