COWPENS - Ruby O'Neal Mabry Johnson, 83, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, September 22, 2018, at home. Born December 13, 1934, in Cowpens, she was the daughter of the late Hoyle and Elsie Hicks Mabry. She was the widow of Clarence Edward "Chub" Johnson.
Ruby was retired from TNS Mills and was a longtime employee of Spartan Mills. She attended Bible Tabernacle of Cowpens and was a true shopaholic!
Survivors include her sons and daughters, Terry Johnson (Debra) of Spartanburg, Richard Johnson (Christine) of Spartanburg, Kim Johnson of Gaffney, Michael Johnson (Tina) of Cowpens, Becky Stroupe (James) of Gaffney, and Deborah Johnson of the home; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and siblings, Brenda Potter, Gladys Lowe, Bill Mabry, Patricia Dill and Norma Jeanne Wilbanks.
Ruby was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Rachel Beth Johnson and her siblings, Bobby Mabry, Larry Mabry and Martha Malonee.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Richard Douglas. Burial will follow in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery Street, Spartanburg, SC 29330.
