William Moore Obituary
Gaffney, SC - William "Bill" Leroy Moore, 85, of 117 Iron Ore Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Janice Ramsey Moore and raised in the home of his grandparents, J. L. & Myrtle Moore. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended Spartanburg Methodist College, and retired from Timken. Bill was a charter member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his family, was an avid golfer, played fast-pitch softball, enjoyed sports, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are two sons, Greg Moore and Shawn Moore (Summer), both of Gaffney; a daughter-in-law, Tracey Moore of Gaffney; seven grandchildren, Brad Moore (Misty), Tyler Moore, Brooke Glover (Avery), Kevin Moore (Megan), Megan Moore (Travis), Hannah Blume (Tyler) and Caleb Goode; numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Moore, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Moore, and a half-sister, Mary Grubb.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until
2:00PM on Thursday,
January 22, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the Church with Reverend Joey Shetley and Reverend Mark Smith officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Calvary Baptist Church, 2929 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
The family will be at the residence.
