Gaffney, SC - Billy Ray Johnson, 71, of 237 Triangle Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Teresa Jennings Johnson and son of the late Ollis Bill Johnson and Lula McAbee Johnson. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed baseball and softball, especially watching his grandchildren play ball and was an avid Dallas Cowboy, Gaffney Indian and Clemson Tiger fan. He retired from Michelin and was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Corry Ray Johnson (Kelly) of Gaffney; a daughter, Shanna Williams (Chris) of Gaffney; two brothers, Dean Johnson (Jodie) of Spartanburg and Johnny Johnson (Patty) of Gaffney; a sister, Janice Gibson (Tony) of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Ethan Ray Johnson, Ragan Brooke Johnson, Ashtan Delone Samuel, and Bryson Corry Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 2:00PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at El Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the church with Dr. Larry Melton officiating. Interment will be in El Be Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: El Bethel Baptist Church, 116 Billy Goat Bridge Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at residence.
