Cowpens, SC - Daniel Kenneth Mims, 71, of 138 Oakstone Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at his residence.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Beverly Scruggs Mims and the son of the late Lloyd Kenneth Mims and Martha Sue Crowe Mims. He loved all sports, especially golf, bowling, softball and football. He also enjoyed going to the mountains and was an avid Gamecock fan. Mr. Mims was retired from Crown Cork and Seal and a member of Love Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Roger Mims (Debbie) of Spartanburg, Dickie Seay (Shelia) of Wellford and Keith Seay (Stephanie) of Spartanburg; two very special nieces, Mikayla McKain and Mikenzie Ledesma; a nephew raised in the home, Bailey Ballenger; three sisters-in-law, Martha Frashier (Aaron), Gayle Lindsey (Richard) and Sharon Varner (Terry), all of Cowpens; a goddaughter, Miranda Ledesma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Mims was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Foster; and a brother, Julius Mims.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Keith Phillips and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Danthel iel Morgan Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of Sharon Varner, 542 Oakdale Road, Cowpens.
