Ruth Earls Obituary
Blacksburg - Ruth Martin Earls, 88, of 537 Ninety-Nine Island Road, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Peachtree Centre .
Born in Hickory Grove, she was the widow of Belton Earls and the daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Bolin Martin. Mrs. Earls retired from textiles and was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Earls are three sons, Pete Earls and wife, Dot, Tim Earls and wife, Sharon, and Kelly "Bean" Earls and wife, Jamie, all of Blacksburg; one daughter, Kim Eul and husband, Brian, of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Earls was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church, 1156 99 Island Rd Blacksburg, SC 29702, with Dr. Jamie Billings and Rev. Mike Whelchel officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Aaron Earls, T.J. Childers, Kaleb Martin, Jacob Suppiger, Wesley Earls, Wayne Peterson, Ray Crotts, and Dale Hardin will serve as pallbearers.
The granddaughters of Mrs. Earls will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the International Missions Board (IMB), Attn: Lottie Moon, PO Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230.
The family will be at their respective homes.
