Shirley Vinson

Gaffney, SC - Shirley Jean Bryant Vinson, 76, of 1639 W. Rutledge Avenue, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in McQuady, KY, she was the wife of William "Bill" Charles Vinson and the daughter of the late Robert Eugene "Gene" Bryant and Alene Morris Bryant. She was retired from Solae Manufacturing Company, was a member of The Shirley Club, enjoyed making cakes and quilting. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a loving wife, mother, friend and was a major Prayer Warrior. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Kirby Church and former member of Little Flock Baptist Church of Shepherdsville, KY.

In addition to her husband, also surviving are two daughters, Debbie Dorman (David) of Gaffney and Michele Abney of Charlestown, IN; two brothers, Bobby Bryant (Lorri) of Olympia, WA and Jim Bryant (Sonia) of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Brenda Warden (Bob) of Fishersville, KY; five grandchildren, Tabitha Gardner (Mark), Jonathan Vaughan (Ariel), Alex Coutler (Zach), Kacie Abney (Curtis) and Jordan Abney; eight grandchildren, Brayden Shy, Maddox Gardner, Dawson Vaughan, Laken Gardner, Hannah Vaughan, Kylie Coulter, Holton Coutler and Kade Bush; and numerous nieces, nephews and very close cousins. Mrs. Vinson was preceded in death by granddaughter, Riley Jane Vaughan; a brother, Mike McCoy; and a sister, Patricia Oakland.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Will Vergara and Reverend Jonathan Vaughan officiating. Interment will be in Brookland Cemetery in Shepherdsville, KY.
