Gaffney, SC - Stephen "Scoobie" Rodney Jones, 66, of 125 Grace Street, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Gaffney Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Lacey Edge Jones and son of the late Harold Jones and Bonnie Shell Jones. He retired from Timken and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan, loved all sports, yardwork and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, also surviving is a son, Stephen Justin Jones (Katie) of Gaffney; three daughters, Sage Lozier and Isabella Holt of the home and Megan Sarratt (Kyle) of Gaffney; two sisters, Shirley Addis of Gaffney and Faye Porter of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Ansley Jones and Harper Sarratt; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Shell Jones and Richard Jones, and a sister, Murmur Potts.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Phillips officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Shriner Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
The family will be at the residence, 125 Grace Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
