Teresa Watkins Mattocks

Teresa Watkins Mattocks was called home by God on November 4, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on April 24, 1966, to Linda Ann Watkins in Gaffney, South Carolina, Teresa lived a life marked by strength, curiosity, and a tender heart that left a permanent imprint on everyone who knew her.

She was a proud 1984 graduate of Gaffney High School, and she continued her education at Limestone College, graduating in 1988. Shortly after, Teresa served in the United States Navy, where she traveled the world and embraced every new place, culture, and experience that crossed her path.

Teresa's calling in life was helping others. As a hospice social worker in South Carolina and Georgia, she poured compassion, patience, and understanding into every family she touched. Her warmth had a way of easing burdens and bringing comfort when it was needed most.She is survived by her two loving daughters, Danielle Mattocks and Destiny Watkins; her mother, Linda Watkins of Gaffney, SC; and her sisters, Cynthia Watkins, Jocelyn Watkins Johnson (Cleveland), and Elizabeth Watkins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Chris Watkins, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on November 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Gilmore Mortuary in Gaffney, South Carolina. The repass will immediately follow at the Suck Creek Baptist Church Family Life Center.
