Audrey Anderson Obituary

ANDERSON, AUDREY N.

Mrs. Audrey Nancy Blackwelder "Grandmama" Anderson, 86 of Thomasville, Georgia died Saturday at Archibald Hospital of Thomasville after a sudden illness. Mrs. Anderson was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and lived her early life in Worthington Springs. She moved to Thomasville in 2003. She retired in 1986 as Lunchroom Manager for the Leon County (FL) Public School System. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Moultrie (GA) Road Church of Christ of Thomasville and was a former member of the Danville (FL) Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late Reuben and Eva Mae Roberts Blackwelder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, D.J. Anderson, daughter Diane Anderson, sister Juanita Meadows and 2 brothers, Roger Blackwelder and Flavil Blackwelder.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by: 2 Daughters: Melda (husband Ken) Theil of Monticello (FL) and Debra Fox of Thomasville. 1 Son: David (wife Karen) Anderson of Thomasville. 2 Sisters: Geneva Hardwick of North Plains, Oregon and Barbara Callahan of Cairo, Ga.. 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler with Bro. Danny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery west of Lake Butler. Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at Archer Funeral Home Tuesday morning beginning at 10:00 A.M. and ending just prior to the service at 11:00 A.M.

Debra, David and Family ~

My sincere condolences on the loss of Mrs. Audrey; she was a wonderful lady and a devout Christian. Our loss is Heaven's gain! I have known the Blackwelder family all of my life and have had nothing but the utmost respect for all of them. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
