Charles Hippolyte Obituary

CHARLES J. HIPPOLYTE July 14, 2003 at his home in Oakland. Beloved husband of the late Hazel L. Hippolyte, gather of Norah, Edgar (deceased) and Sybil Hippolyte, grandfather of Dominique, Phillipe and Jon-Paul Hippolyte, great grandfather of La'Devonta Hippolyte and Haddiyah Hippolyte-Johnson, brother of John, Edward (deceased) and Harold (deceased). Charles was born on May 29, 1933 in Oakland, CA to Louis and Beatrice Hippolyte. He graduated from St. Elizabeth's High School in 1951. After briefly considering the priesthood he attended the University of Montana. He married Hazel on November 30, 1957. Charles retired from the Golden Gate Bride in 1992 after 21 years of service. Charles was an avid traveler and loved to gamble at the indian casinos throughout California. He will be sorely missed by a great many family and friends. The Memorial service will be held at the Church of St. Leo the Great, at the corner of Piedmont and Ridgeway Avenues, on Monday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. (510-654-6177).
