JAMES MOSS Obituary
James B. Moss, Sr., 79 a native of Archer, Florida who resided in Palatka, Florida until his illness, surrendered to the will of God on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care, Gainesville, Florida.
He received his formal education in the Alachua County public school system and is a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1959. James was a retired Corrections Officer.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Reginald B. Mosley, Sr., Eastman, GA and James B. (Debra) Moss, Jr, Gainesville, FL.;daughter, Deborah N. Moss, Gainesville, FL; brothers, Jimmy Lee Allen, Thomasville, GA and Tommy Lee Allen, Sarasota, FL; sisters, Joyce Simmons and Laverne Allen, both of St. Petersburg, FL; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Moss will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2018, St. Peter Baptist Church, 17026 SW 83rd Ave, Archer, FL, Rev. Dwayne McBride, Pastor, Apostle Calvin E. Manker, Officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Archer, FL under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home, 18 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday, December 7, 2018, 2:00-7:00 PM, Chestnut Memorial Chapel and Saturday at the church one hour before the service. Family members are asked to meet at the church at 10:30 AM.
