STRINGER, LEE, 62

Gainesville - Lee Stringer, 62, of Gainesville, FL passed away May 19, 2014 at her home. Lee was born on August 8, 1951 in Jacksonville, FL to Norel Douglas and Bessie Lee (Dowling) Stringer.

She graduated from Forest High School in Jacksonville, then moved to Gainesville and worked at GRU and as a clerk at the V.A. Hospital. Lee loved taking care of her grandson, Eli, and snorkeling for Lobster in the Keys.

Lee is survived by her son, Tyler Cody Danford; grandson, Eli Danford; companion, Paul Brown; sisters, Winifred Peters, Wanell Dowling, Jacquelyn Pellum (Sonny), and Charlotte Armstrong (Charlie); brothers, Douglas Stringer (Carol), James Stringer (Shirley) and Frank Stringer (Carol).

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Lee's life will be held at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Rd., Ocala, FL (352) 620-2006 on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 3p.m., with Rev. Joe Massey Officiating.

Lee worked in HR at the VA Medical Center and I was one of her supervisors. I was so saddened to hear about her passing. She was always a sweetheart and she will be missed by many of us in HR.
