NAOMI COLLINS Obituary
COLLINS, NAOMI, 38
On February 11, 2015 we said goodbye to a beautiful spirit, Naomi Collins. She left us to be with the angels as just 38 years of age. She was a vibrant and fierce woman, both feared and loved. She was sweet, truthful and wise. Naomi is survived by her son Corey Kenney, mother Shanti Vani, father Gordon Collins, five generations of family members, extended family and friends. We will never forget the imprint Naomi left in our hearts. We will always cherish the moments of impact life allowed us to share with her. Her memorial will be held at 3pm on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Gainesville, 4225 NW 34th Street. All are invited. Please come and help us celebrate her life.

It's been a year now and a day. Getting ready for the anniversary of your death was so difficult. Should I do this or that or not? How do I feel? Is everything ok? Talked with other mothers who had lost their adult children. I was assured that there is no right or wrong way to grieve. So on the 10th I went to the place where it happened and I sprinkled some of your ashes there. It was a sunny, cool day. It was peaceful. Later when I got home and watched the sun go down, it was as if the event was happening all over again. The final curtain, the shadow descending over Hidden Lake and the darkness descended. I miss you so much! I love you! Mom

So in the dream we were moving some stuff, using two cars and I was following you. I lost track of you and you came back and found me. I think back to the times we've had, junk food eating, boy talking, slumber parties :)
I can't help but laugh. We've been through a lot through the yrs. Its been both an honor and privilege to call u my friend. You are the most amazing woman I've ever met; funny, smart, beautiful and stubborn lol. I'm gonna miss our talks and late nite coffee outings. Ill never forget how much fun Jamie, you and I had the first nite her and Jeremy moved into their apt. Us girls nvr slept lol. Great times! I'm always gonna miss u Naomi. My thoughts and prayer are with everyone that knew Naomi. She will live forever in our hearts and never forgotten. May she fly high as our guardian angel and watch over all of us. Today we share grief and laughter as we remember this strong willed, energetic, affectionate and sometimes frightening woman who was born out of my womb. As her mother, I am glad to be the first to enter a message in this guest book. I only want to say that forgiveness is healing and kindness is the only way. Even if we feel angry, we must hold our words and think of how it is for the other person. I love Naomi with all of my heart. There is a cut in my heart and it bleeds but it is healing already and the love of so many people coming together now is a great joy. Thank you!
