Billy Gene Sullens

1942 - 2022

Mr. Billy Gene Sullens, age 80, of Dahlonega, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was born on September 26, 1942, in Dahlonega to the late Floyd Sullens and the late Alma Hulsey Sullens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Joe Hulsey, Hoyt Sullens, Mary Nell Jarrard, and Joyce Parrish; brother-in-laws Randy Pruitt and Johnny Crisson. Billy was of the Baptist faith and was a longtime member and deacon of Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dahlonega. Billy's faith and personal relationship with the Lord were first and foremost in his life. He loved his family, especially his grandkids, beyond measure. Billy was a big Nascar fan and enjoyed watching sports, with the UGA Bulldogs, Georgia Tech, and Atlanta Braves being his favorite.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Catherine "Louise" Sullens; daughter Donna (Allen) Taylor of Dahlonega; son Jonathan (Paula) Sullens of Dahlonega; grandchildren Emily (Dustin) Jones, Jacob Taylor, Megan Sullens; siblings Robert "Bob" Sullens, Lucy Eikler, Dorsey (Carol) Sullens; Doris (Tony) Couch, David (Paula) Sullens; sister-in-law Rachael Pruitt; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church. The Rev. Rex Fuller and the Rev. Charles Grant will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2022, and from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.
