Dorothy A. (Dot) Corbin, 83, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, after a brief illness.
Born June 6, 1942, in Wilmington, North Carolina, Dot was the daughter of Clyde and Willie Lee (Hyatt) Hodges. She was blessed to grow up in a large, loving family as one of 17 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Corbin; brothers; James Hodges, Richard Hodges, Tony Hodges, Donnie Ray Hodges, "Baby Boy" Hodges, sisters; Jean Collins, Emily Lassiter, and Ruby Hodges.
Dot is survived by her son, Ken Corbin, and daughter, Libby Gazaway. Grandchildren; Joshua (Sarah) Gazaway, Laura DeLaPerriere, and Courtney (David) Elstein, Great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Gazaway, Brianna Gazaway, Braylynn Elstein, and Corbin Elstein. She is also survived by siblings; Mary Majors of Texas, Alice Wilkerson of Tennessee, Billie Collins of Florida, Kathy McGinnis of Florida, Bobbie Greer of Florida, David (Gayle) Hodges of Florida, Diane (Steve) Fort of Florida, and Joseph (Linda) Hodges of Florida.
Dot was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia. She retired from Merial Select Labs, where she dedicated 30 years of service and formed many lifelong friendships. Known for her delicious sour cream pound cakes and countless home-cooked meals, Dot was happiest when sharing food, fellowship, and love with those around her. She was a woman of faith with a kind and gentle heart who dearly loved the Lord, her family, and her friends.
Her neighbors held a special place in her life, especially Phillip, Debbie, Ellen, Elizabeth, and Christina Kimsey, whom she lovingly considered part of her extended family for more than 27 years.
The family received friends on Wednesday, September 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, Georgia. Funeral services followed in the chapel with Pastor Robby Williams and Reverend David Smith officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Gazaway, Vic Gazaway, David Elstein, Chris Gillespie, Mark Smith, and Aaron Wehunt.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests one of two very special churches in Dot's life: Pine Crest Baptist Church, 2520 Mountain View Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30504 or Multiply Church, PO Box 2, Flowery Branch, Ga. 30542.
