Ed Hood Obituary
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 3, at New Hope United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Ga., with the Rev. Larry Patton officiating. The family will have visitation at the church from noon until 1 p.m. Burial will be at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hood was a graduate of Fulton High School and received his degree in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He retired from Lockheed-Martin in 2006 after 40 years and four months service. Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche Hood; and his brother, John Woodie Hood.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Wells Hood of Kennesaw, Ga.; sons and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Lauren Hood of Smyrna, Chip Morrow of Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Kari and Scott King of Newnan, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Olin and Ruth Ann Hood of Hiawassee, Ga.; grandchildren, Alex, Riley and Asher Edwin Hood; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 4815 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, GA 30506.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta, 770-424-4924.
