Estelle Whitworth Gailey Obituary

Mrs. Estelle Whitworth Gailey, 95, of Clermont passed away on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, after a brief illness. Mrs. Gailey was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the Late Roxy and Will Whitworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Gailey, and son, Donald Gailey. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Burl, Albert and Carl Whitworth; and sisters, Maybelle McCollum, Odell Lewis, and Roselle Chambers; and great-grandson, Luke Christon Hollifield. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she was active in the Mary Hulsey Circle and the Friendship Builders Sunday School Class. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Shirley Gailey of Clermont, and Lamar and Kathy Gailey of Clermont; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Gailey of Cleveland; and grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Chris Gailey of Gainesville, Melissa and Chris Hollifield of Clermont, Susan and Todd Billmire of Charlotte, N.C., and Chad Gailey of Cleveland; and great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Logan Gailey, Gainesville, Sarah and Grace Hollifeld, Clermont, Seith Billmire of Charlotte, N.C., Megan and Kyle Gailey of Cleveland; and one great-grandchild, Cooper Gailey of Cleveland. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Clermont. The Rev. Don Underwood will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Floral arrangements will be accepted or donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 100, Clermont, Ga. 30527.
