Florence Dorning Setili

Florence Dorning Setili, 87, of Gainesville died Oct. 14, 2008.
Florence was born in Ontario, Calif.
She shared her husband's love of aviation and earned her pilot's license flying a yellow Piper Cub, while a member of the Civil Air Patrol in California.
She worked in banking when the statements were written completely by hand. Florence was a dedicated executive secretary, with advanced dictation, shorthand, typing and bookkeeping skills. She also was a skilled seamstress and created many fancy shirts for everyone in her family.
Florence taught her children the importance of showing kindness to all people at all times.
Florence was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Carl P. Setili and their beloved daughter, Susan.
Florence is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Robin Millard of Gainesville; and her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Amanda Setili of Atlanta. She will always be affectionately known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Millard, Marcus Millard, Douglas and Marcy Millard, Thomas Millard, Shannon Setili and Alison Setili; and her great-grandchild, Grace Millard.
An informal memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mason & Ward Funeral Home, Gainesville.
