Jimmy Lee Simpson Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, from 5–9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Simpson was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Flowery Branch, Ga., to the late D.B. Simpson and May Bell Carter Simpson. He was retired from Wayne Poultry and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Vic Simpson. He was married for 54 years to his wonderful wife, Laverne Anderson Simpson. Jimmy loved to attend yard sales and flea markets. He had perfect attendance for 12 straight years in school.
Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Laverne Simpson of Oakwood; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jana Simpson of Oakwood; son, Greg Simpson of Oakwood; grandson and fiancé, Cory Simpson and Ajay Jones of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Bonnie Morrow of Flowery Branch and Ann and Vernon Jarrard of Buford; nieces and nephews, Paula Wingo, Ryan Jarrard and Justin and Marcy Simpson; sister-in-law, Nancy Simpson; and special friend, Mary Cleveland of Gainesville,
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
