Mitch has been a great friend through the years. From the days of high school to the days when we had dairy farms and now. He always had something to say to make folks laugh and bring smiles. He was always a great friend and though we didn't see him as much in recent years, he was always the same good ole Mitch. We are out of town or we would have been at the service today. Much love to the family.

When our daughter, LaRae, started working at Food City in Galax Mitch took her under his wing. This was the first job she ever had, and being special needs, she was scared to death. Mitch made sure she was taken care of every day. He always had a smile, a hug, and lots of words of encouragement for her. He was strength on her bad days and giggles with her on her good days. When he hurt his shoulder she was so worried about him. After retiring he always made sure to find her when he came shopping. He always gave her a hug and made sure to find out what was happening in her world.
Mitch was a precious and gentle soul who will be missed by so many. Thank you to the family for sharing your special person with so many in the community. We send out thoughts, love and prayers to each of you.
