Mavis Meredith Obituary
She was born in Carroll County to the late Cana Nelson and Lou Emma Ann Willis Sowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Grant Meredith.
Survivors include her children, Doris A. Meredith of Mount Airy, N.C., Sherry Elaine Siekierka and husband, Matthew of Rocky Mount, Warren Meredith and wife, Llew Ellen of Fancy Gap and Brian K. Meredith of Fancy Gap; five grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.
A funeral was held May 7, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Bluemont Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robby Vance officiating. A burial will take place in the Bluemont Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bluemont Cemetery, in care of Elmo Alexander, 2406 Excelsior School Road, Laurel Fork, Va. 24352, or to Mountain Valley Hospice at 1477 Carrollton Pike, Hillsville, Va. 24343.

I went to school with Mavis att Excelsior School and then graduated with her in 1951. I alway contacted her concerning reunions. Loved her and will miss her. My sympathy to her large family.

Sorry for your loss! It has been many years since I saw Mavis. I would go with Mom to visit her when they lived in Uncle Clyde's house. I always enjoyed being with her, she was very sweet and such a loving lady. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
