Virgil Melton Obituary
He was born in Carroll County, on July 5, 1946, to Glenn and Ethelene Farmer Melton.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Waller Melton of Galax; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jan Melton of Low Gap, N.C.; step-son Robby Hensdell of Galax; a granddaughter and husband; a great-granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita and Freddie Weddle, Marie and Howard Dalton, all of Gala,; Reva and Norman Nester of Woodlawn and Faye and Jerry Snavely of Austinville; brother and sister-in-law, Herman "Pete" and Shirley Melton of Woodlawn; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and husband, Kathleen Waller, Helen Melton, Pat Hill and Gail and Johnny Williams; brother-in-law, Larry Quisenberry; and manyl friends.
A funeral will be held today, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Midway Baptist Church with Pastor Myron Dalton and Pastor Garry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Melton Cemetery with military rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
