Charles Bowman Obituary
Mr. Bowman was born November 2, 1936, in Clearfield, the son of the late Albert and Lula (Lanich) Bowman.
He was a 1955 graduate of Clearfield High School and was employed as a surveyor at PennDOT as well as a surveyor for the Army Corps of Engineers, helping to build the Curwensville Dam. He had also been employed for over 30 years and retired from Penelec. After retiring, he would drive about 85 miles each week to visit friends he had made while reading their electric meters, delivering daily devotionals to them and distributing donated clothing and baked goods to needy families.
He was a member of the Grampian Church of Faith.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife Norma (Leonard) Bowman; two daughters, Carol Barton of Clearfield, and Karen Miranda of Washington, PA; and a granddaughter, Macy Barton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Bowman; and two brothers, Thomas and Albert 'Tiny' Bowman Jr.
A funeral service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 2 PM with Pastor Rick Butler officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 1-2 PM.
