Doris Louise McBride

Doris Louise (Rusden) McBride, 91, of DuBois, PA, passed away on October 22, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 27, 1933 to the late Charles and Rosalie (Effinger) Rusden.

Doris married John T. McBride, Jr., her beloved husband of 62 years, on January 31, 1955. He proceeded her in death on November 8, 2017. Their long-lasting devotion to each other was evidenced in the simple and heartfelt display of holding hands wherever they went.

Doris was a homemaker for all of her adult life and a military wife for 20 of those years. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother to her three daughters. In later years, she was essential in helping to raise a grandchild and a great grandchild. Doris took care of both her parents in their golden years. She also was a selfless and tireless caregiver to her husband in his final years. Doris consistently put her family and those she cared for above herself. In her later life, she was able to take time to enjoy camaraderie, outings, and activities with her friends at Christ the King Manor Apartments.

Doris was a religious person; she demonstrated her faith through her kind, caring, and generous nature that she extended toward everyone she encountered.

She is survived by two daughters, Terie McBride, LTC, U.S. Army (Ret) and Tina Anand and her husband Dr. Sanjeev Anand, both of DuBois, PA; three grandchildren, Jesse Carberry, Celine Anand, and Alaina Anand; two great-grandchildren, Cole Carberry and Sydney Carberry; and one brother, Robert Rusden of Arizona.

Doris was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Carberry, and son-in-law, Gary Carberry, and siblings Charles, William, George, and Gustave Rusden and Carole (Rusden) Olah.

There will not be a public visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Doris's name may be made to the Gateway Humane Society, PO Box 678, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
