Janis Keen Obituary

Janis Carrol Keen, age 91 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Christ the King Manor surrounded by her family.

Born on November 28, 1933 in Riga, MI, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Wilma (Elg) Goetz.

Janis was a veteran of the United States Navy.

She married John Kimberling who was killed on May 10, 1964 during a training mission in Spain while serving in the United States Navy. She then married Charles W. Keen. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2013.

Janis was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children (Norman Kimberling, Neal Kimberling and his wife Betsy, Nathan Kimberling and his wife Katie, Susan Shaffer and her husband Larry, and Wendy Gangloff), seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Janis was preceded in death by one brother (Donald Goetz).

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 10 am – 11 am at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will follow at 11 am with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
