Johanna (Joann) Louise Dietrick, 93, of Houtzdale and most recently a resident of Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Joann was born on August 4, 1932 in Houtzdale, the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary Ann (Kisel) Rynish,
She was a 1949 graduate of the former Houtzdale, Woodward, Brisbin High School.
She was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Moshannon Valley School District for 21 years and was a volunteer as an AARP tax aide with the Houtzdale Senior Center.
Joann was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Victoria's Court 646, Houtzdale.
Joann is survived by her husband of 72 years, William Franklin Dietrick, whom she married on July 25, 1953 at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Joann is also survived by 6 children, Mary Lou Dietrick Metz of Indiana, PA, Barb Snyder (Tom) of Ramey, PA, Ed Dietrick (Pam) of Brisbin, PA, Larry Dietrick (Debbie) of Alexandria, VA, Donna Bortner (Carl) of Durham, NC, and Bill Dietrick (Beth) of Sanborn, PA; 15 grandchildren, Jason Metz (Heather), Erin Burnette (Damon), Amy Fahey (Brian), Emily Snyder (Larry), Bethany Temchack (Jordan), Eric Dietrick, Amanda Mason (Thomas), Ashly Dietrick, Brittany Dietrick, Michael Grim, Jennifer Baker, Benjamin Bortner (Shanda), Adam Bortner, Nathan Weld (Kasey) and Nick Weld (Alex); 10 great grandchildren Jaxson Dietrick, Allie Fahey, Connor Fahey, Maggie Mason, Maverick Mason, Julianna Baker, Theodore Bortner, Wyatt Weld, Kassidy Weld and Rhett Weld; and a sister Elma Doman of Venice, Florida.
In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Bodnar and Dorothy Heaton and a brother Michael Rynish.
Family and friends will be received at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey, from 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, September 17th and from 9:30-10:30am on Thursday, September 18th . Rosary will be recited at 7pm on Wednesday by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale. Father Zab Amar will be celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Brisbin.
