Lars M. Larson

Lars M. Larson, 95, of Altoona, PA, died on Monday, October 7, 2024 at UPMC Altoona.

Born on November 25, 1928 in Houtzdale, PA, Lars was the son of the late Lars Larson and Cora (Spinney) Larson. He married Alfretta (Finney) Larson on April 11, 1949 in Fairfax, VA. She survives at home.

Lars was a member of the C & M A Church in Hollidaysburg, PA.

He was a retired Foreman for Cooney Brother Coal Company in Cresson, PA. Lars was a 1946 graduate from Woodward Township High School.

In addition to his parents, Lars was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Larson, Glenn Larson, and Charles Larson; and one sister, Jane Latz.

In addition to his wife Alfretta, Lars is survived by two daughters, Charlene Heitsenrether of Clearfield, PA and Kristie Holsey & her husband Richard of Altoona, PA; a son, Kevin Larson of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren, Ryan Heitsenrether, Erin Haney, Andrae Holsey (Tressa), and Natalie Holsey; seven great-grandchildren Maci Stiles (Jake), Broc Heitsenrether, Ashlyn Haney, Shane Haney, Cole Haney, Mia Holsey, and Ariana Holsey; and one great-great-granddaughter, Olive Heitsenrether.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the C & M A Church at 183 Jefferson St. Hollidaysburg, PA. Rev. Tim Dietrich will officiate. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery, Brisbin, PA.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St. Osceola Mills, PA and on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral at the C & M A Church in Hollidaysburg.
