Yesterday

Millie was a precious friend of my mother, Alice, at Graystone. When they were able to drive, oh, the fun they had on their one- or two-mile trips! Each time I visited Millie, she welcomed me with open arms. She was so sweet to me, and always praying for my mother and me. I am not surprised she made it past 100 years of age ... that tiny, spunky lady kept going as much as she could. I am thankful to her family for sharing her.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Millie for a few short months, but in that time found her to be an amazing person with an amazing life. Her accomplishments at a time when stereotype expectations of women were prevalent are to be admired andinspirational. I will miss our late afternoon conversations and her wonderful smile. May she rest in peace after a life well lived.
