Ruth McCauslin Obituary

Ruth P. McCauslin, age 96 of Rockton, PA died Friday, April 5, 2024 at Christ the King Manor.

Born on July 3, 1927 in Luthersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Mossilene (Woods) Miles.

On November 19, 1949, she married Edward J. McCauslin. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2018.

Ruth had attended the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church in DuBois and most recently attended the First Baptist Church.

She had worked at Bell Telephone, was a manager at Agway Egg Processing, and was a receptionist at the Riverside office. Ruth had been a patron member of the National Rifle Association, and a charter member of the Brady Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed being a homemaker, bowling, cooking, and loved being with her family.

She is survived by three children; Kevin McCauslin and his wife Kathy of Hermosa, SD; Sherry Murphy of Rockton; and Douglas McCauslin and his wife Peggy of Rockton, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers, James W. Miles of Luthersburg, PA, Emery V. Miles of Winter Haven, FL, and a sister, Rita Canan of DuBois, PA.

She was preceded in death by her sister Marian Dush, and her son-in-law, Charles Murphy.

There will be no public visitation or services. Ruth was a prayer warrior. Therefore, the family requests that the time that would be invested in attending a service, be spent praying for one another.

Aunt Ruth, you are the best woman I have ever known in my entire life! I was so thankful to have you as my aunt. I´m kind of envious that you´re up there spending time with my father Jesus Christ!!! Thank you for all the wonderful memories. We were just talking about you the other day and I´m in tears right now typing as to you. I love you, aunt Ruth.

Your parents were the model of parenthood for our generation. The planet will not be the same without them. God has blessed all that can say they knew them, Our challenge is to live up to their example. May you all find peace in her passing.

I am so sorry to hear that Ruth passed away. I worked with her at Riverside. She had a heart of gold, always smiling, and took the time to say good morning to you. The family lost and angel and heaven gained one. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Amy Walters
