Shirley Matier Obituary
Born on September 26, 1940, in Tyrone, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Freda (Stonebraker) Bryan. She married Francis A. "Sparkie" Matier, Sr. on June 24, 1961 in Madera, PA; he preceded her in death on February 19, 2007.
Shirley retired from Philipsburg-Osceola School District where she had been employed as a Secretary. She was a 1958 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Fred Walker and Betty Grossmer; and three brothers, Ronald, Gerald and Thomas Bryan.
Shirley is survived by a son, Francis "Fran" Matier & his wife Jennifer of Osceola Mills, PA; and a grandson, Connor Andrew Matier.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. Pastor Sue Arnold will officiate. Burial will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, in Osceola Mills, PA and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to funeral time at the church.

She was the nicest person and she kept me out of some trouble lol,when I was in North Lincoln Elementary she always had a smile that was a long time ago and
I remember that very well. I believe Mr Tocimack was Principle another great person recently passed, and Blessings to her son Fran an his wife, your mother will be missed , very sorry for your loss God Bless Tim Shuey

So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I haven't seen her in years, we just rode past her house a few weeks ago and I said I wonder how she was doing? Deepest condolences to you and your family.

Deepest condolences to Shirley´s family. She and my mom, Helen (Wasilko) Rerko, were friends their entire lives. We always called her "Shirley from Osceola". She was lovely, and always so kind. I´ll never forget her coming to see my Mom when she was in hospice. They were like sisters.
Rest in Peace Shirley. May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
