Brian Brown Obituary
The son of Bob and Gail Brown of Gastonia, he was a 1989 graduate of Ashbrook High School, and a 1993 graduate of North Carolina State University, where he graduated summa cum laude with degrees in genetics, biology, and zoology.
He went on to graduate in 1997 from the School of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill, and completed his residency in family practice at the UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was awarded "Resident Teacher of the Year." He began his medical career as a primary care physi-cian with CaroMont at Lake Wylie, S.C., where he practiced for nine years. At the time of his death, he was a physician with Novant Health at Blakeney FP&UC in Charlotte, where he had practiced for the past four years.
Brian was an avid outdoorsman and musician. He enjoyed high-adventure sports, spending time with his family, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Malgorzata (Maggie); twin daughters, Nico and Annabel of the home; and two sisters, Lau-ren Owen (Geoff) of Cary, N.C., and Shannon Flowers (Charlie) of Nashville, Tenn.; three nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of life service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Lutheran Chapel Church with Pastor Michael Comer officiating.
Receiving of friends will be one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center.
Inurnment will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crisis Assistance Ministry, 805 W. Airline Avenue, Gastonia, N.C. 28052-3894.
McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont is serving the Brown family.

Today is July 15, 2021 and we heard from a common friend that Dr. Brian Brown is no more. Yes, we heard it almost a decade late but we wanted to let you know that Dr. Brian Brown was our family doctor when we lived in Charlotte, NC. He was a fantastic doctor and my mother talks of him very fondly as one of the best doctors ever. It was very sad to hear the news and out heart goes out to his family. We shed tears in his memory and at the tragedy of it all. Please continue to stay strong.

Maggie and family I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Brown will always be a part of the CaroMont lake wylie family, I enjoyed working with him, he was funny and loved to teach us all about everything. Everyone loved him the medical profession lost a great one!
