Cortney Cornwell Obituary
Born on Jan. 24, 1981 in Gastonia, she was the daughter of Nick and Portia Hardee Cornwell.
Other than her mother and father, Cortney is survived by two sons, Landon Reed Dunn and Tristan Lee Dunn and three sisters, Nikki Clark (John), Kriss Sharp (Danny) and Lisa Vella (Vince), a niece, Gracie Leigh Cornwell, a nephew, Andrew Ayden Clark and many extended family members.
She is predeceased by her grandparents, A.B. and Bessie Cornwell of Cramerton and Preacher Crance and Kathleen Mishoe Hardee of Loris, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 at Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Landon and Tristan Dunn to Gaston County Social Services, P.O. Box 1116, Little River, SC 29566.
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

I just can't believe this. She was working so hard to be able to be with her little boys. We seen each other every other friday. My heart goes out to landon and tristan and all her family. Dear Portia,
My heart and love go out to you and your family. You will be forever asking why, just as I still do to this day. The only thing that anyone ever said to me that made any sense was, "God understands, he lost his child too." Denise and I were talking and a wonderful thought occurred to us. It seems like only yesterday that Cortney and Nikki came knocking on our door at Golfview Plantation to play with Danielle, Nicolette, and I. What wonderful memories we all made! We spent many a day at Myrtle Waves together during the summer and we all lived like sisters until you moved to Loris. I really hate that we have not kept in touch as closely as we should have through the years. It is sad how it takes a tragedy like this to bring us all back together. I can close my eyes right now and hear that little voice of hers calling Nicolette "Pea." Char has some wonderful home videos of us as little girls that I know you would appreciate. Love you both.
