David Fields

Belmont - David Allen Fields passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the age of 73. Born in Portland, Indiana on March 31, 1948, David was the son of the late Pearl William Fields and Elsie Norton Fields.

David graduated from Pennville High School. He served his country in the US Army as a member of the First Infantry Division "The Big Red One" during the Vietnam War. He retired from 3M after 40 years of service. He was active with the American Legion Post 144 in Belmont and the Belmont Moose Lodge.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters, Delma Fields and Marjorie Merchant, and a brother, Vernon Fields.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Toya Fields; children and spouses, Stacy and Mike Lund, and Kobi and Eric Wean; grandchildren, Makayla Lund, Mollie Lund, Madison Lund, Riley Wean, Aubrey Wean and Owen Wean.

Family and friends of David Allen Fields are invited to attend a Celebration of Life drop in service from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 17th at The Belmont American Legion Post 144.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of David may be sent to Belmont American Legion Post 144 c/o Pat Shapiro, P.O. Box 932, Belmont, NC 28012
