Dustin Helms Obituary
He was born November 2, 1979 in Lincoln County, the son of Donald Ray Helms and Alice "Faye" Bright Helms.
He graduated from Cherryville High School and received his Associates in Arts Degree at Gaston College. He was employed for Tyson Bros. Inc.
Dustin was a huge Carolina Tar Heel Fan and enjoyed many other sports.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Misty Toney Helms; sons, Jase Helms, and Joshua and Jacob Brackett; brothers, Gene Schronce; and sisters, Jackie Garrison and Donita Frankosky.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Friday, March 15, 2019 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
A funeral service officiated by the Rev. Carroll Flack will be held 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Westview Gardens.

My sincere condolences to the family. I new Dustin through his work. I enjoyed our competitive light hearted conversations when it came to UNC and Duke sports. He will be sorely missed.

I grieve over the loss of my friend. I've known Dustin since he was a young child. We grew to know each other with our love for basketball. I played with him for many years. I always loved to see him as we played. He had an infectious smile, great heart and a love for life and his family. He spoke of his wife and son often. I will cherish the time we had together here on earth and look forward to playing with him again in heaven. He will be missed!! Prayers are being lifted for the family during this time of grief! You are in our hearts and thoughts throughout the days and weeks ahead!
