James McEntyre Obituary

CHERRYVILLE - James Eric McEntyre, 40, passed away May 26, 2015, at home.

He was born April 28, 1975, in Gaston County, to Cheryl Ann Mason Smith of Gastonia and James Dale McEntyre of Bessemer City.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shantina McEntyre; grandfather, Furman "Bud" McEntyre Sr.; grandparents, Arlie and Sue Dunn.

James was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville and was a Sargent in the United States Marines Corps. He was a people person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Once you met him you never forgot him. If you were his friend it was for life. He fulfilled his life calling which was to make everyone laugh and smile.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers, Perry Clack of Tulsa, Okla., Jamey McEntyre of Cherryville, Thomas Smith of Gastonia; sisters, April Heffner of Sumter, S.C., Stephanie McEntyre of Lincolnton, Trish Rimmer of Florida; mother, Vickie Brown of Lincolnton; grandmother, Starlene McEntyre of Bessemer City, special friends Nikki and Seth Via; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Ken Faulkenbury, the Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe, and the Rev. Eric Ross officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
