Dear Jeff's Family,
Growing up at 7th Avenue Baptist Church with Jeff was a blessing. He was consistently upbeat and kind. Jeff accepted people unconditionally.
You will remain in my prayers.

I met Jeff 6 years ago while playing in the CR Band at Bethlehem Church, where we played every Friday night for many years. I also had the honor of playing in the Microsoft Battle of the Bands with Jeff, which was such a great time and one of my fondest memories. I to will miss my friend Jeff & miss making music with him.

I came to know Jeff and his family during their time attending Unity Baptist Church. He was a genuinely friendly and talented guy. We were blessed by the time we spent with him and his family. I think the mark we make on this life is best reflected in how we are missed once we pass on. I believe that Jeff will be sorely missed by many. May God Bless the Heffner family.

I will really miss hanging out and playing music with Jeff. We shared the stage many many times over the past 6 years and when we weren't playing together, we were out watching other bands. He was always dragging me out to see the Spongetones, Mothers Finest, and countless other concerts.
I know Jeff is extremely proud of Jonathan who has become an amazing bass player.
Beth, please please please call me if there is anything I can do for you and the kids.

Know that my thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I knew Jeff when he was just a small boy and saw him as an adult a few times with his beautiful family. I was so glad to see that he grew up to be a fine man and giving his talents to the Lord.May God give all of you strength to face these days ahead.

My prayers are with you and your family during this trying time. I really enjoyed your father's sharing of his talent playing the guitar during our Sunday services at Bethlehem. I love you. Be strong in the Lord at this time. The Lord is near. You can rely on Him.
Love you dear one,

To the family:
Please accept our condolences and prayers during this difficult time. I can only assume that the praise band in heaven could not get a good sound out of their equipment, so God called Jeff home to fix it up. I'm sure they will let him sit in, and he will find peace and joy there.
I worked with Jeff for 15 years at Microsoft, all the way back to the Word for Windows days. It seems like yesterday we were trying to understand fonts.
God Bless.

Jeff, we've been friends since we were little kids, and recently became neighbors again. Our dads were co-workers and great friends. A part of me has left with you; but I know that you're at rest now. I look forward to the day that we reunite on the streets of gold where we can rejoice and praise Him forever. I know your family is going through a very tough time right now and that they miss you terribly; but God, I know, is wrapping His loving arms around them to comfort them and heal their pain until they get to see you again too. You will forever be remembered as a person who was quick to bring a smile, and quick to give your time to others. Rest well my friend. And to Beth and family, please know that I will keep you folks in my thoughts and prayers and please don't hesitate to call me if I can be of any assistance at all. May God Bless You.

Beth, words can not express the sadness or the shock that I felt when I read about Jeff passing. I know how your heart is breaking. I had the pleasure of playing with Jeff at HT. I called him later to play as my guest at a church in Charlotte, he didn't hesitate to come! He truly loved to play his guitar and was one of the best. Every time I hear the song "Surrender" I always think of him and picture him singing it, it was one of his favorites! He will truly be missed. You and the children are in my prayers.

Today, 17 years ago I started a new job at Microsoft Corporation in Charlotte, NC. Jeff Heffner was there in a suit and tie (I was warned to NOT wear a tie). I'm not sure if it was the end of the day, or when, but Jeff went home his first day at Microsoft with... half a tie.
Jeff used to crack me up so much. He and I partnered in our training classes and had the whole class in stiches most of the time. His keen knowledge and sharp wit was always at hand and he was always glad to lend a hand with whatever your issues were.
I got a chance to jam with him on occasion and enjoyed talking shop about computers and especially about musical gear and guitars. He'd always have some new thing he was trying or a gadget he had swapped with someone to tell me about.
Thanks for the friendship when I was first starting out at Microsoft Jeff. As you know that was a very trying and difficult time for me and you made me laugh and look at things in a different way.
Thanks man!

Beth,
I was stunned to learn of Jeff's death.
From getting to know you while I was at Holy Trinity, I remember Jeff as a soft spoken man with a spiritual hunger. I knew he was talented with computers - and I really appreciated his generous help in that area while there! I learned later of his love of music and gifts there. I was thrilled for him to find a way to share that. I also recall his love for you and your (then) young children.
I pray that the service is an encouraging celebration of his life and a comforting reminder of the faith we share in Christ.

Jeff had always been super nice to me. Jonathan spoke well of him all the time. I have been best friends with his son Jonathan for a few years now and his dad always welcomed me with open arms. I loved to sit down and talk with him. He always had a smile on his face. Jeff always treated me with respect. I looked up to him like I do my own father. I see a lot of him in Jonathan. He reminds me so much of Jeff. They have the same sense of humor. I loved seeing them together. They always knew how to make my day. Jonathan and his dad were very close and I can't even begin to imagine what his family is going through. I spent time with Jonathan today and I saw how hard it was for him. I love Jonathan to death and he has always been my best friend. I love his family and I send my thoughts and prayers. I love them all and Jeff will be missed but never forgotten.
