John Jenkins Obituary
Mr. Jenkins was born in Rutherfordton County on April 19, 1927, to the late Andrew Oliver Jenkins and Anna Belle Gray Jenkins.
He was also preceded in death by four children, Billy, Bruce, Jessy and Christine and also one brother and two sisters.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Clara Jenkins; sons, David Jenkins and wife Michelle, Dean Jenkins and his wife Jennifer and daughters, Barbara Hunter, Katie Lee and Teresa Jenkins; 15 grand, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Church North Campus, 575 Separk Circle with the Rev. Robert Hull officiating.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Bethlehem Church, PO Box 551387, Gastonia, NC 28055-1387.
Arrangements handled by Benson Funeral Director, LIC.
