Joseph Poteat Obituary
He was the son of the late Charles and Minnie Poteat of Marion.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years active duty, serving his last tour of duty as a recruiter in the Charlotte and Gastonia areas.
He attended Gaston College and loved playing golf often with his golf buddies.
He is survived by his wife and his four children, Joe, Suzan Cauble, Rick, and Tom.
His family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the nursing staff on the 4th floor heart trau-ma unit of Caromont Medical Center for their excellent care.
Donations and memorials may be sent to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Lowell, 400 West First Street, Lowell, NC 28098, where he was a former deacon and member.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
