Junior Cudd Obituary
He was born in Polk County on Oct. 1, 1921, son of the late Albert and Tessie Cudd.
Mr. Cudd was a veteran of World War II where he served in Europe. Along with being a loving husband, he was a wonderful father, Paw Paw and Great Paw Paw. Mr. Cudd was also a very caring and compassionate man. He retired as a supervisor with Burlington Industries after 30 years of service. He also retired from Armtex Corporation.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Mrs. Margaret Morton Cudd; children and spouses: Shelia and Dewey McKinney of Gastonia, Kay and Joe Risha of Gastonia, Henry and Susan Cudd of Gastonia and Elaine and Terry Heithoff of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Angie and Amy Sim-mons, Allison and Jeremy Risha, Wendy Worrell and Phil Fowler, Jr., Lindsay, Ashley and Whitney Cudd; special great grandchildren: Alex and Aiden Helton, Austin Simmons and 6 other great grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Avery, Verl Epley, Carolyn Taylor and Evelyn Ledford.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers: Lewis Cudd, Ernest Cudd and Luther Cudd and sister: Lulie Splawn.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with Pastor David Armstrong officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:30 until 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors by the WWII Last Man Club of Gaston County.
