1938 - 2021
GASTONIA – Norma Pennell Cochran, 82, passed away on March 21, 2021 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Gaston County on August 14, 1938 to the late Bill and Bonnie Hance Pennell.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Cathy Cochran Bumgardner; her brother Archie Pennell and a sister Judy Pennell.
Norma loved to quilt and read; she probably has a book collection of more than 5,000 books that she read.She enjoyed her time with family especially sitting in the yard with her husband watching the blue bird and the traffic go by. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to different jobs for work. Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Harold Cochran; her loving grandchildren
Caitlyn and wife Marin Bumgardner, Christopher Bumgardner and fiancé Grace Cuellar; and great grandson Logan Bumgardner; special friends Shane McLeymore, Kenneth and Sharon Dillard, Lloyd and Maritha Brown and a niece Jane Rogers
All services will be private
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
