Pansy Meeks Obituary
A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Mamie Hamby Hartness.
Pansy loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed shagging and line dancing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Eddie Meeks of the home; sons Lyn Meeks and his wife Rita of York, SC, Shane Meeks and wife Pennie of York, SC; sister Violet Franklin and her husband Bobby of Gastonia; brother L.B. Hartness of Belmont; grandchildren Briana and Kinsie Meeks.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at East Belmont Church of God with the Rev. Tom Tatum officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service in the sanctuary.
Burial will be at Evergreen –"A Quiet Place."
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter St. Ste. 150, Charlotte NC 28204.

Eddie, Ronnie and I have only known you guys for only a couple of years. I will always remember Pansy because of her eagerness to teach me how to line dance. She was the greatest at it. She's dancing for Jesus now. I pray that God's love and grace will comfort you and your sons at this time.

I have known Pansy forever and cherish the many memories we made together especially the finds at the Goodwill. I will never forget how you made my moms day on her 90th birthday.. Your smile will always be in my heart. Eddie and her boys and grandchildren were her loves. She is now rejoicing in heaven with her beloved mom

Sorry to hear about the "home going" of Pansy. I cherish the fond memories of Pansy and L.B. during our teen years on the Imperial mill village. even though I have not seen her for nearly 50 years I so remember the joy she had and her beautiful smile. Know that my prayers are with you during these days of grief but we can also rejoice in her life, I know she touched many during her years on this earth. I had the pleasure of working with Pansy for a number of years, she was like my second Mom and even called my the daughter she never had. I will miss her more then there are words to express. She was a very sweet, kind, caring, and compassion person whom I loved dearly. To her family, she loved you guys and talked about you all of the time, I enjoyed hearing the stories of her "boys" as she called them. An those grandbabys she loved them and was very proud of them as well. An last but certainly not least was Mr. Eddie the love of her life, she would tell of his fishing adventures, and his job and how much she loved him. I pray that the days will get easier and that the pain will ease, because I know that it will never fully go away. There is nothing that can replace the hole left in the heart of those that loved Pansy, but I do pray for easier days. I love you all and if there is anything at all I can do please don't hesitate to let me know. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!!

I worked with Pansy and enjoyed talking with her when we had the chance. She was loved by all the employees who worked with her and she brought laughter and sunshine into our day. We will miss her wonderful sense of humor, generosity of spirit and her kindness. My deep condolences to the family for their loss.
