Peggy Riddle Obituary
She was a native of York County, S.C., and the daughter of the late Robert Carl Kendrick Jr. and Edna Harper Ken-drick.
A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Union Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Cockerham officiating.
Interment will be in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.
Mrs. Riddle was a retired teacher with more than 38 years of service with the Gaston County Schools. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday school for more than 30 years, served as a deacon and elder and at the time of her death was elder emeritus. She was a 1954 graduate of Clover High School and a1958 graduate of Winthrop University.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Helen K. and Cary E. Grant of Clover, S.C.; brother-in-law and sis-ter-in-law, John William Riddle Sr. and Nell Henderson Riddle of Columbia, S.C.; special aunts, Margaret H. Riddle, Martha Sue Kendrick; nephews, Jimmy Riddle, Johnny Riddle; niece, Julia Price; great-niece, Caroline Price; and great-nephew, Will Price.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Clark Riddle Jr.
Memorials may be made to Union Presbyterian Church, 5615 Union Road Gastonia, NC 28056 or Covenant Village Benevolent Fund, 1351 Robinwood Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.

I am so sad for your loss. I worked with Mrs. Riddle at Gastonia Central during my first year with Gaston County Schools. She was a wonderful teacher and a very nice lady. May God bless your family with His comfort.

Peggy and I taught together for many years at Gastonia Central School. She was a dedicated teacher and a dear friend. There are many people in Gaston County who will certainly miss her. My sympathies go to her family. Most sincerely, Carolyn D. Murdock
