Richard Hadfield Obituary
Belmont, NC - Mr. Richard "Rick" Rance Hadfield, 60, of Belmont, died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born November 5, 1960 in Millington, TN, a son of George Frederick and Bobbie Himes Hadfield.
After graduation from High School, Rick immediately enlisted in the US Army and served his country honorably for six years. At age 34, he was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 2, which debilitated Rick in many ways, however, he overcame and persevered through this adversity, walking again, working many technical jobs, and even enjoying golf.
In addition to his parents of Gastonia, Rick is survived by his children, Leslie Nicole Hadfield (Greg Fryman), of Alexandria, KY; Kyle James Hadfield (Maribeth Ivy Smith) of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Ava Marie Lynn Hadfield and Annabella Lee Hadfield; brother, Randy Hadfield; sister, Stacy Newsome, both of Gastonia; nephew, Michael Newsome (Celine) of Marietta, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, June 25, in Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with Chaplain Carl Synan officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the NC Army National Guard and the service will be live streamed through the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Johnson House, c/o Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

I am so very sorry for your loss. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you all.
I most certainly remember his great laugh, radio voice, and of course all the funny memories of him. He will most definitely be missed.
