Ronald Abernathy Obituary
He was born July 5, 1941, and was the son of the late Pat and Ora Abernathy.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Leona, son, Ronald L. Abernathy and wife Ann, daughter Amy Abernathy Frizzell; grandchildren Patrick and Kaylee Abernathy, Kierstin and Trevor Frizzell; and one sister Marie Redmond.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mt. Holly.
A private graveside service will be held.

Leona please know how much our hearts are hurting with Ronnie's passing. Joe wanted to see him so bad but it just didn't work out. He loved him like a brother. Please if you need anything at all we can do or help you with let us know. It warmed my heart every time he called or I called him to give him a report on Joe. We never knew it would end like this. They were both so worried about each other. Joe feels so lost. We loved you both and valued your friendship. We are praying for you and the family to find the peace you need to get through this. Tell Trevor Joe is heartbroken for him. He loved being with him and Ronnie when they went places together. His Papaw was proud of him. We send our love to each of you.
